                               RESOLUTION NO. 18860
                  
                  
                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING POLICE OFFICER
                   ROBERT EVANS TO ACCEPT A TWO THOUSAND DOLLAR
                   ($2,000.00) REWARD FROM THE EAST TENNESSEE
                   AUTOMOBILE CLUB.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 WHEREAS, Chattanooga City Code, Part I, Section 13.18
       provides that "no policeman, fireman or other officer in either 
of
       said departments shall, without the consent of the Board of
       Commissioners, receive any money or gratuity or compensation in
       addition to his salary, for any services he may render as an
       officer."; and
       	    	 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Chattanooga
       believes that it is appropriate in this instance to authorize the 

       receipt of a reward for Officer Evans' services in recovering a
       stolen vehicle.
                                NOW, THEREFORE,
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Police Officer Robert Evans be and 
is
       hereby authorized to accept a $2,000.00 reward from the East
       Tennessee Automobile Club.
